Thanks, Louise! I'm not against cutting the fat in government, but people should probably know that Musk considers research on women as woke. Politicians have a role in making policy based on scientific discoveries, but they should not be allowed to direct science. That never ends well.
Exactly, Jeff. I've already had a few people cancel their subscription to my substack, which is a shame because I harbor no ill will toward Trump supporters. They should share in the research bounty! But it occurred to me that most people don't even know what's happening, so I gave it a shot. Like you, however, I'd rather talk about the science!
I’ve been trying to avoid watching the destruction of our country. A few years of this and we’ll be a third world country. Once esteemed for our science, education, innovation and production, we will become an idiocracy. How does happen?
Scott, your comments are appreciated. I will consider sharing with my friends who have no idea what is really going on, because of what they are reading/listening to. I am afraid of getting into a pissing contest.....I just don't think they would really buy into all the current crazy BS, if they knew the facts. Thank you for being courageous. And, hang in there. This can't continue at the current frenzied pace....can it??
Favorite passage: "Adding turbidity to an already murky situation". Gold. Your points are valid Scott. Hopefully they resonate with the folks that need to hear them most. I'm not optimistic though. Culture wars may make excellent red meat for their respective tribes, but they have no place in science. Skillful policy changes, especially in the science community are best handled with a scalpel, not a chain saw.
Yes, but it's going to be great for the billionaires. It seems like we get a roaring 20's every century, and this is ours.
