In humans, not yet. The point of no return in mice is a couple of weeks. That likely corresponds to 1,000 days in humans -- the point at which we establish an adult microbiota. So that rules out most adult trauma. But the metabolites may still prove useful, and FMT may help to remodel the gut microbiota. More to come!

This is wild!! Do we have an idea of when the turning point might be for humans to "unlearn" learned fear responses?
